One of my favorites. Hope you all enjoy it.
Ingredients: 6 or 8 ears fresh corn cut from the cob 2 lbs shrimp, peeled and deveined 1 large onion, chopped ½ bunch green onions 1 large bell pepper 1 stick celery, chopped 3/4 stick butter 1 tsp red pepper 1 tsp of file' salt and black pepper to taste Instructions: Saute' onion and bell pepper in butter. Add the celery and shrimp and the rest of the butter. Fill the pot about halfway with water. Add the file' and the red pepper. Simmer for about an hour. Add the green onions about 15 minutes prior to finishing. Adjust salt and pepper at that time. If you like your soup thicker, you can add a little blond roux before you simmer. |
