I'm such a redneck
I find myself on the road a good bit lately and grabbing whatever food is at the bottom of the exit ramp. I've been eating bad, bad food that I can't help loving.

I'm hanging my head in shame as I give you........ chicken gizzards from an unnamed truck stop in North Mississippi.

Oh. I should not admit this. I have been addicted to moon pies ever since my Granny used to get them for me when I was a boy. Banana is the best.

I'm not embarrassed. McDonalds Egg McMuffin and Sausage Burrito. Also their regular cheeseburger. :D

Krystal Hamburgers. Probably the first fast food I ever ate as a kid. We used to load up the car and stop by the Krystal on the way to the Drive In Theater. I can remember sitting in the back seat of the car listening to the scratchy sound from the speaker hanging on the window. Dad would light this little coil of God only knows what that would supposedly keep the mosquitoes away and we would chow down on a whole sack of Krystals whle we watched the movie.
I love those little sliders.

I'm with you on that. Those sausage burrito's were practically my daily breakfast while I was in nursing school.:D

Corn dogs. Can there be anything worse for you?
I love 'em with lots of mustard. This was a recent stop on my way from home to Nashville.

I can remember getting White Castle burgers in New Orleans but don't remember the krystals. They look to be about the same.

My other weakness is whoppers. Double. Triple. I could eat them a couple of times a week. Heart attack in a sack.

Gosh I miss White Castle. Didn't know they ever had them down here. Up north where I am from they were staple. I loved them. I stopped at a Krystal over in Foley Alabama last summer. It was one of the nastiest things I ever put in my mouth. Nothing at all like a White Castle.

Bwah ha ha.
Funny how our brains get programmed by what we eat growing up. My brother in law refers to Krystals as "gut grenades". Yet he was shoving them in his mouth as he told me this.
