Anyone lucky enough to live in Baton Rouge should try the Marilyn Monroe roll at Kamado's on Sherwood Forest. It is carb free and totally delicious--Melt in your mouth tuna on the outside and snowcrab and avocado on the inside. This is drizzled with a ponzu type saouce to finish it off. I can't get enough of this scrumptous roll.

I don't think I've ever had bad food at Kamado's. Great restaurant. They do a nice rainbow roll also. Can't believe how many new sushi places there are in Baton Rouge.

I like Kamada's. Also heard good things about Tsunami in the Shaw building. Have not had a chance to go there yet. I am also pleased with all the sushi places popping up.

For great sushi... Waka House on Sherwood Forest can't be beat. They have a new roll everytime I go and they are always great and unique.

I love Waka House, too! The atmosphere is kind of Asian/Art Deco. The sushi is very fresh and they use fun ingredients with a tropical flair like mango and banana. There is always something new to try. I can't say I have a favorite b/c everything I tried was good. When I went they had a limited alcoholic beverage menu-Sake and Beer. Has that changed?
I love Waka House, as well... their Southern Roll and Mango Shrimp Tempura Roll are great. Still, the best roll in the city is the Green Monster Roll at Tsunami-- coconut shrimp, snow crab, cream cheese, and avocado, topped with kiwi and strawberries and drizzled with pineapple sauce. Incomparable!

Flu, I've been to Tsunami 3x's. I absolutely love the atmosphere. Hands down it has the best atmosphere for sushu in BR. But it smelled so 'fishy' last time that my party ordered drinks and we left. We went to the Little Village which was delicious. But now I'm willing to give it another try b/c you and other people have mentioned how good it is. Do you find it as fresh as Waka and Kamado's on Sherwood, I've stuck with those b/c they have never disappointed me.
I used to think that Tsunami's was overrated- I ate there twice during the first year they were open and I wasn't impressed. But the last two times I have been there, this year, it's been really, really good. The only thing I don't like are the prices; each roll costs about a buck or two more than the same roll would cost at another sushi place. Waka House was my favorite ever since it first opened, but after trying that Green Monster Roll, Tsunami took over the top spot on my list.
